Mavro Employee Spotlight: Bo Minogue
Bo Minogue is a seasoned veteran who has seen it all, from the company’s inception to the launch of groundbreaking products. Known for his optimistic nature, hearty laugh, and can-do attitude, Bo is also a man of every season—but his two favorites are rugby season and hunting season (which conveniently span the entire year).
Bo’s journey with Mavro began in 2007, the year the company was founded. He now serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development. His job? Simple. Be the Mavro evangelist. Bo travels across the United States, spreading the gospel of Mavro’s One-Touch Processing, armed with glowing testimonials from hundreds of satisfied customers.
What Bo loves most about his job is Mavro’s commitment to exceeding expectations. He takes pride in the company’s ability to deliver great products and powerful enhancements while working alongside customers to meet their needs. Bo’s role is made easier by the exceptional work of Mavro’s install and support teams. Customers rave about their experiences, making his job not just rewarding, but downright fun.
Reflecting on the changes over the years, Bo recalls a time when he would personally visit every customer to observe their internal processes and brainstorm improvements. Today, while face-to-face interactions have dwindled, the spirit of innovation and customer-centric solutions remains strong. He truly cherishes the relationships he has built over the years and the time he spent with people in the industry, many of whom have become close friends.
A Culture of Curiosity and Collaboration
When describing Mavro’s culture, Bo highlights the team’s curiosity, continuous learning, and unwavering focus on customer needs. At Mavro, job titles are irrelevant. Whether in sales, support, development, or administration—everyone pitches in to support the customer. It’s a unique environment where employees are more than colleagues; they are family.
Family and Fur Friends
Bo and his wife Lori celebrated their 37th anniversary in May, surrounded by family and their four-legged friends, Cali and Fatty (ask Bo for the story behind that nickname). Their daughter Molly and her family live in Scandia, MN, with Bo’s first grandkids, JB and Breeda, and their dog Midge. Tara, her fiancé, and their dog Mulligan recently moved to Nashville and are planning their wedding. Danny is also in Nashville, chasing his musical dreams, while the youngest, John, has returned to Buffalo to start his career at Moog Space & Defense.
Life Beyond Work: Rugby, Hunting and Tree Farming
Bo has spent decades coaching kids’ sports, with a particular focus on youth rugby. Many anniversaries with his wife Lori were celebrated at rugby tournaments up and down the East Coast. Bo’s dedication to rugby is matched only by his passion for hunting and outdoor activities. Living in Buffalo, he enjoys skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and waterskiing and boating in the summer.
But perhaps his most profound passion is tree farming. For 25 years, Bo has been involved in his family’s tree farm, recently shifting his focus from taking down trees to growing them. Inspired by a plaque at the Arbor Day Foundation, he now plants trees with a deep faith in the future. Bo’s philosophy on tree planting is simple yet profound: “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” This wisdom reflects Bo’s approach to his work at Mavro—build something lasting and impactful for future generations.
So next time you meet Bo Minogue, remember you’re not just talking to Mavro’s Executive Vice President and evangelist, you’re meeting a rugby coach, a tree whisperer, and a man dedicated to exceeding expectations in every aspect of his life.
