This is particularly challenging when amounts are handwritten. Mavro’s AI-powered intelligent check solution significantly improves accuracy by reading both courtesy amounts (numerals) and legal amounts (longhand text), even cross-referencing other documents present in the transaction, such as printed coupons, for verification.

As a result, our read rates have improved from the high-80s to the mid-90s, eliminating over 80% of the remaining manual keying for check amounts, with even greater accuracy when combined with advanced image processing. For large-scale operations, this means significantly reduced manual intervention and faster processing times.

AI for “Check-and-List” Processing

Organizations that manage payments for multiple accounts—such as utility companies handling tenant payments from property management companies—often use check-and-list processing. Traditionally, processing these payments required manually roping-and-zoning and matching columns of account numbers and amounts.
