Employee Spotlight: Jim Cieplenski
Steady Cieplenski: Bringing Structure from Kickoff to Completion
If you have ever wondered who keeps things moving smoothly at Mavro, there is a good chance you are thinking of Jim Cieplenski. As a Project Manager, Jim works closely with both customers and engineers, helping keep communication clear and details organized.
Jim joined Mavro just over nine months ago and has enjoyed learning the role and supporting the team. His day-to-day revolves around keeping communication crisp, documentation accurate, and projects organized from kickoff to completion. He has a knack for taking what looks like a pile of sticky notes and turning it into a roadmap everyone can follow.

What he loves most about his role is being that steady, organized bridge between a customer’s need and a technical solution. While he may not have a dramatic “customer rescue” story just yet, his approach is more preventative than heroic. Clear notes, tight follow-ups, and making sure action items do not fall through the cracks are his quiet superpowers. Customers may not see the spreadsheets, but they certainly feel the results.
The Mavro Culture of Camaraderie
When asked about Mavro’s culture, Jim does not hesitate. He has worked at several companies, but says he has never experienced this blend of true camaraderie and disciplined drive. The team supports one another like family while still holding a high bar for excellence. People genuinely have each other’s backs, and Jim fits right in.
“Boy Dad” Madness, Martial Arts & Music
Outside of work, Jim’s calendar might actually be busier than his project plans. He has been married for 12 years and is the proud dad of two boys, ages 9 and 3. Between coaching sports, serving as a Cub Scouts den leader, volunteering for field trips, and heading out on camping trips, he is deeply involved in his kids’ world. Add in two Golden Retrievers and a bunny, and you have a household that likely requires its own project management system.
Jim is also serious about continuous improvement. He trains in Taekwondo with his son, and they are both working toward their black belts. His son is fairly certain he will earn his before Dad, which Jim suspects will come with lifelong bragging rights and possibly a required bow at home. Over the years, Jim has also trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, Aikido, and kickboxing. Discipline and growth are not just hobbies for him, they are a mindset.

On quieter evenings, you might find Jim enjoying a glass of wine with his wife and playing music. He plays piano, drums, and guitar, which means if Mavro ever forms a band, we already have our rhythm section covered.
He also looks forward to outdoor hunting trips with friends and family, one of the few times he steps away for a bit of solitude and fresh air.
The Unexpected Combo is Key
And if you think his resume sounds varied, you are right. Jim holds degrees in electrical engineering and restaurant management, which is not exactly a common pairing unless you are planning to design a circuit board that also serves dinner. He also spent 12 years as a realtor. His career path could be summed up as: build it, run it, then help you buy the building!
Whether he is aligning teams, coaching his kids, or tightening up a project timeline, Jim brings structure, energy, and heart to everything he does. At Mavro, that combination feels right at home.
